ich heiße hans
hallo and welcome to falstaff’s follies. my name is hans, and among other things, i am a student at columbia university in the city of new york, studying european intellectual history (with a focus on modern germany) and political science (international politics and political theory). i enjoy all things germanic, journalism, political philosophy, eating and drinking, looking at nice things (and occasionally photographing them), doing yoga, admiring the sartorially savvy, listening to music through nice headphones (most of the time my mdr-v6′s), writing a lot about anything and everything, exploring the depths of brooklyn and occasionally twittering about it, and thinking about memory and experience. i like participating in the occasional bullshitting session while drinking coffee, tea, good beer, or yerba máte, but mostly i enjoy sorting through politics, foreign and domestic, with a fine-toothed comb. i am a fan of minimal techno, graphic design, publishing, and branding. also, i enjoy traveling a great deal but continue to remain captivated by nyc and still cling to my meager book collection and the increasingly sparse magazine collection to which i remain subscribed. the examined, careful, and relaxed life always intrigue me, and i think sometimes we need to slow it down a touch to take it all in with relish.
read falstaff’s follies for daily musings on politics, culture, fiction, design, food and drink, and sport. from time to time enjoy the farcical musings of one garroulous uptowner and by subjecting yourself to my foibles soon you too will be speaking with incredible folly.
